Flamenco Dancers

I've already posted one of these but decided to post the series of 4 dancers. I love red-I believe I interited this love from my Grandmother Mazie that loved red and purple. She would always use lots of color in the quilts that she made. She made me a brown & white quilt (at my request) and for years she said it was the ugliest quilt that she had made--ouch!

I was striving to lay the paint on thick and to show movement in the paintings.

Very cool paintings showcasing movement. I love how the red pops in each painting.

Your dancers look amazing. It's nice to hear about your quilt. Shakira loves purple and ended up asking my mum for a blanket that was bright pink and purple, my mum really doesnt like it but Shakira thinks its the most beautiful colours ever.

Suzanne,

With your creative skills, I think you could design a quilt with those colors in it--could be cute. I'll have to take pictures of my family quilts and post them. Glad you love my Flamingo Dancers!

Gina,
I did have fun with the satiny dress, there were so many colors from red to yellow.

They are lovely Rhonda! I can really see the movement in the dancer and it is a unique perspective.

I like these fine paintings, Rhonda.
Are they oil on canvas? And their size is 7 x 5 cm, isn't it?
Have a great Sunday!

Thanks Pat--glad you love them!

Pietro,
They are oil on clayboard and the size is 7x5 inches. I've had a very laid back Sunday.

Hi Rhonda!
Flamenco dancers are hard to paint; but you caught them beautifully!! Excellent job!!

Blogtrotter has some more Rural Iceland before the Blue Lagoon. Enjoy and have a fabulous week!

Hi,

In my opinion you've done a really good job.
I especially like how the dresses "fall" onto their bodies transmiting a convincing sensation of the female's anatomy and graciosity (did I spell this ok ? :-) ).
Da Vinci said something like : place drapes/cloths on a body without knowing anatomy and it will like a sac of potatoes.

Kind regards,

José

Thank you Jose, I did think of the anatomy while painting these. Thanks so much for sharing your opinion.
