Portrait of Jim & Lisa

I was commissioned by a young couple, Adrienne & Tom, to paint this as a thank you gift for Tom's father Jim and his wife Lisa. I was honored to be chosen because I know this was a very special gift for them. Their excitement and enthusiasm was catching and I wanted to make sure that I delivered in every way possible. I have to admit that I made a couple of changes after taking this picture--just can't help myself.

Hi Suzanne,

I did have a great Christmas, hope you had one too. They should have it by now and I hope they like it.

I think it's a wonderful painting, too. What changes did you make (just curious to know).

Thanks Paz, really I didn't do too much, I signed the painting, toned down the reflection on his glasses and worked on the rose bud a little.

Hi Rhonda! Hope you had a great holiday season and wish you a 2009 much better than we can anticipate and at least as better as if your dreams come true!
Health, Peace, and… some money to spend… ;)
They look quite alive; great work!
As for Blogtrotter, it’s visiting the Red Fort in Delhi. Hope you enjoy and have a great week!

Hi Rhonda!

What a wonderful painting! It is so lifelike and I'm sure it will be treasured by the couple who commissioned it.

We had a wionderful tiem in Colorado meeting our grandson but I'm a little sad to have to leave him behind. I'll be going back again in a few months -- I can't wait!

Hope 2009 will bring you and your family many joys and blessings.

Hugs, Pat

It always amazes me when someone paints portraits and this one is brilliant. I dont know how you capture the subjects to look so real as if its a photograph and not a painting. Wonderful painting! Happy New Year X

Hi Trotter,

Thanks for your good wishes for the new year, I'm ready for it. I'll have to check out your next adventure.

Hello Pat,

Thank you for the good wishes for 2009 also. I'm ready to see the economy grow and get back to normal! I'll bet you will have several air miles by the end of 2009!

Hi Kitten,

Tell Mr. K I feel honored that he praised my painting! This was the last of my December commitments and I'm so happy that it was delivered on time and everyone was happy. Thanks for your encouraging comments also!!!
